Project keyVCS-876Project descriptionThe proposed project activity involves the installation and operation of a grid connected 12MW biomass (rice husk) based power plant in the industrial facility of SNIL, located at Siltara, Raipur district in the state of Chattisgarh, India. The project activity would be used for captive power consumption at SNIL and export of surplus power to the grid. In the absence of the project activity the electricity requirement of the SNIL facility would be met by the existing waste heat recovery unit and grid supplied electricity. The project activity will thus replace grid power. The biomass based power plant will generate electricity by mainly utilizing rice husk. The plant and machinery of the project consists of a high-pressure steam turbine configuration that will be used for this purpose.
