Project description
Toros Regulator and Hydro Power Plant (HPP) is built on the Çakıt Stream, within the jurisdiction of Pozantı Town of Adana Province. The purpose of the project is electricity production using the potential energy of Çakıt Stream as a renewable resource. Therefore, the electricity is going to be produced without causing airborne pollutants or Green House Gas (GHG) emissions. The construction and operation of the Toros regulator and HPP will be retarding the addition of conventional thermal power plants to the Turkish National Electricity Grid. the established capacity of Toros HPP is 49 MW. The project is expected to produce a total of 239,400.00 MWh of electricity per year. Based on Turkey’s Combined Margin Emission Factor of 0.53012 CO2e tonnes /MWh, the project is expected to produce 126,911 tonnes of CO2e GHG reductions each year.
